Iraq has asked Turkey to extend the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline agreement for at least one year. This extension will provide more time to negotiate a new accord. Iraq's state oil marketer SOMO confirmed this request. The country has exported 12 million barrels of crude oil from its southern ports since June.
