The expectations surrounding a new ESL have been rekindled by the ruling of the ECJ. A22 Sports, which has made proposals for the league, has made a bid in 2021 for a new ESL team which included some big names. This received severe criticism from fans claiming that it will only focus on the richest clubs, for financial profit.
