China's manoeuvres in Indo-Pacific, role in West Asia a cause for alarm

Australia definitely has reasons to worry about China's attempts to win over the South Pacific island nations. Strategic access to these island nations could help China's military manoeuvres in the event of a conflict involving Australia or the US. China's deployment of its anti-ship ballistic missiles DF21 and DF21D is a reason for worry. By deploying these missiles close to the region, China could effectively ensure a sea denial tactic, tying down US movements in the vicinity and lay a blockade preventing US reinforcements from reaching Australia or Taiwan.
